I was born and raised in a small farm community in Iowa. A few years into college, I  married my high school sweetheart, Dennis. We spent 22 years in the military moving to different states and countries around the world. Our final duty station was in 1984 in Colorado Springs; and we have lived here ever since.

As a teacher of 20 years, I know the value of a good education to a child's success in life.  I also understand the importance of a parents' decision in the school the child attends as well as the curriculum offered in that school.  I have held many leadership roles from teaching middle school language arts, Department Chair for teacher development, Team Leader for teachers' groups, and sponsor of student activities, such as, the National Honor Society.  I was so proud to be part of my students' success that every year I organized the annual Student Awards Ceremony.  Toward the end of my teaching career I was appointed to participate in the initial district and state-wide language arts performance standards and assessment creation.

After retiring as a teacher I became actively involved volunteering with the Republican Party.  Since I began volunteering, I have held several leadership positions.  Starting as a precinct leader and I was soon elected as a division leader.  I then was elected as an officer in my  house district and commissioner district. During this time and since, I have worked on innumerable campaigns at every level.  My attitude is "there is no job too small or too big" and as such my responsibilities have dramatically increased. From the county level, I served as Secretary of the El Paso County Republican Party for two terms.  Then I was elected as Vice chair for two terms.  While serving during my second term, I announced my campaign for House District 21; and then resigned from Vice Chair of El Paso County Republicans.

I am eager and motivated to take on the challenges of public office.  I look forward to a spirited campaign and to continuing the good work for the people of House District 21.  The current Representative of House District 21, Lois Landgraf, is term limited.  Representative Landgraf has known me for many years.  We have worked alongside each other through many campaigns including her own.  Rep. Landgraf believes I am the right candidate and knows I will be an effective legislator who is an advocate for business, personal freedoms, and limited government.
